Lake Kawana Community Center Show in May
Artist Jordan Hart and I have a joint show coming up in May at the Kawana Community Center on the Sunshine Coast. It is the second time we have collaborated together - first time in 2008! We have both found ourselves living on the Western Downs and this has inspired the imagery for this show. Jordan has taken to the man-made landscape and I've experimented with the agricultural landscape. We are also both paper cutters!
Katagiri Koala ready to be auctioned for Animals with Attitude
With a loss of time from the recent crazy QLD weather, Katagiri Koala was completed in two weekends and bought back to the Gold Coast to be a part of the Animals with Attitude Sculptural Trail. This koala and 20 others will now be auctioned at a gala dinner to raise money for the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital
Samurai Koala chosen as one of 20 commissions for the inaugural Swell Sculpture Project: Animals with Attitude
For nine weeks in April 2013, larger-than-life koala sculptures will be displayed in Currumbin on the Gold Coast showcasing the wealth of artistic talent in the area plus drawing on national talent also. My design titled 'Katagiri Koala' is inspired by my Samurai Ancestor Katsumoto Katagiri. The large 3D fiberglass sculpture will soon be painted up in traditional Samurai Warrior style.
